Donna graduated from Texas A & M with a  B.S. in elementary education and a major in reading instruction. She  has 30+ years of experience teaching reading and writing in public  classrooms, homeschooling situations, at the college level, and in  private schools. She has privately tutored for the past twenty years,  and she currently teaches middle school ELA at a small private school.  Donna believes in providing students with roadmaps and frameworks for  phonics, reading comprehension, and writing – no matter their age. She  wants students to begin using what they have learned in tutoring  immediately in their classrooms and educational situations so they will  see results sooner rather than later. After all, every learner deserves  to succeed – and to feel good about it!

I have extensive and successful teaching experiences in early elementary  and middle school classrooms including reading specialist learning  services and home schooling. Motivating and encouraging students to be  engaged and excited learners is one of my main goals as a teacher. I am a  published author of several different book genres. I love to help  students to become excited about writing their "story".
